For example, the filename below indicates an OpenMPI version built on CentOS 7.8 targeting the AVX2 instruction set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ls-dyna_mpp_s_R14_0_0_x64_centos78_ifort190_avx2_openmpi405.tgz_extractor.sh<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remarks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intel packages that have no CPU instruction in the name (usually happens with SMP) are\u00a0<em>always<\/em>\u00a0SSE2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LS-DYNA is\u00a0<em>tolerant<\/em>\u00a0of differences between the runtime and build-time environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We run quality assurance checks on all of the platforms Ansys officially supports at the time of release.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your system\u00a0<strong>MUST<\/strong>\u00a0support the\u00a0<strong>CPU instruction set<\/strong>\u00a0indicated on the package.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For example, an AVX512 executable will crash with an illegal instruction error unless the runtime environment supports that instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your\u00a0<strong>interconnect driver<\/strong>\u00a0must be compatible with your MPI runtime environment.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is, by far, the most important consideration when running MPP or hybrid LS-DYNA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driver issues are responsible for a sizable fraction of all reported MPP LS-DYNA installation problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Getting a functional driver combined with an MPI runtime that is compatible with both (1) your LS-DYNA executable and (2) with the driver is\u00a0<em>more important<\/em>\u00a0than having the MPI runtime version match the build environment&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The version of your local\u00a0<strong>MPI runtime<\/strong>\u00a0tools must be the same as or newer than the version of MPI used to build the LS-DYNA package.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>operating system<\/strong>\u00a0used to run LS-DYNA must be newer than or equal to the build environment&#8217;s.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All other things equal, it is better to match the run time and build time environments as closely as possible. Still, experience shows other considerations are more important.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Usually, it is only the operating system&#8217;s major version number that matters.
